Keeping the house clean is an art, mastered only by a few. I say a few, because not necessarily can every homemaker be a good at keeping the house clean and organized. Some of you, reading this, may think of me an obsessive personality, but I do take the subject of housekeeping very seriously. Every home décor principle advocates organization and spacious environment so that the energy flow in the area is maintained to the best of the levels. This is the basic principle of Feng Shui too. A well kept space always brings peace and harmony to its residents and their relations with each other. Let’s see what are some of the good housekeeping tips and tricks to bring home the warmth of a homely feeling.

Easy Housekeeping Tips

Housekeeping Tips # 1
The living room is the first room of your house, which makes an impression on the guests.

It’s the room which welcomes and entertains your guests. As they say, first impression is the last impression, so you might as well make an indelible impression on your guests. In most of the homes, magazines and newspapers are piled up in the living rooms. Go through the pile and discard the old issues. The carpet (if you have one) has to be vacuumed, thoroughly, to get rid of the dirt, dust, grime and your pet’s hair (if you have a pet). The upholstery has to cleaned regularly, so fix a weekly or a fortnightly schedule for the same. Flowers, artificial or real, need to be cleaned or cleared included the vase. The lamp shades, TV, coffee tables, windows and window sills too have be cleaned every week. Read more on carpet cleaning tips.

Housekeeping Tips # 2
The room which provides the house mates with nutrition, energy and good health is the kitchen. Hygiene in the kitchen area is of extreme importance. Spills on the refrigerator, stoves, micro-oven and on the kitchen platform go unnoticed as you clean in a hurry. Once again fix a weekly schedule for cleaning your kitchen. Since a lot of oil is used, the walls tend to get sticky and the dust gets settled easy. Wash the empty containers and dry them out, completely, before you use them again. Wipe the fingerprints off the glass cabinets and the window panes. Rinse the dirty utensils, pots and pans and the dishwasher too. The weekday cereals which are now all over the place, need to be put back to where they belong. Throw away the cereal boxes. Read more on house cleaning tips.

Housekeeping Tips # 3
The bedroom allows your body to rest and rejuvenate. Thus the bedroom must be kept clean thoroughly. Bedbugs, dust bunnies and termites are a common bedroom complains. Put in a little extra effort while cleaning the bed to keep these vermin at bay. Getting dressed in a rush hour can make your nightstand and dressing table messy. So rearrange the scattered cosmetics and clothes, put them back in order and dust away the remnants of talcum powder. If your housekeeper has stacked up a pile of clothes and towels next to your bed, put them back in the closet and lastly, don’t forget to make the beds. Read more on home cleaning solutions.

Housekeeping Tips # 4
The bathing area keeps you clean, so you’ve got to keep it clean! Every time you take a shower or get the bathroom floor wet, mop with dry with a sponge mop. This will prevent your bathroom from growing mildew or moss due to persistent moisture. Use a terrycloth to clean the faucets and the mirror in the bathroom. Dust particles get stuck in between the tile joints. For cleaning tile floors, use a toothbrush and detergent. This task is a little laborious, so do it weekly. Use a good disinfectant to clean your toilet and scrub to clean the bowl. Leave in the disinfectant for 10 minutes and then flush it. Read more on bathroom cleaning.

Bed Mattresses

Beds are the primary things to decorate your bed room. Then come bed mattresses. Among three types of bed frames namely single, double and king size bed frame. Double bed frames are most suitable for middle class people with a reasonable income. Small double beds have become one of the must have beds by the teens of today. Not happy with the standard single bed many people are desperate to have a little more space and that\'s where the small double bed comes in. Kids love these beds very much. As for bed mattress there are no standard mattress depths. Some mattresses are 9-10 inches deep, but many pillow top mattresses measure 15-16 inches in depth, or even more.

Bed Linen

When buying bed linen should I choose fitted sheets or flat sheets? A very popular question and the answer is not always the same as there are a lot of deciding factors associated with this question and a blanket answer is not always the best advice. Fitted sheets are the most common way of covering your mattress as they have mitered corners that fit neatly over and down the mattress and are finished off with fully elastic sides or corners to ensure a snug fit which look like a fitted glove over the bed. The elastic corners are preferred aesthetically as they allow the user to tuck them under the mattress making a neat appearance where the full elasticated version can look bunched up depending on the fabric used to weave the bed linen.

Cot mattresses

If you look online for cot bedding, you will discover that there are a lot of different options. Stores that cater to new parents with supplies for infants usually will have what you are looking for, and often at very reasonable prices. To find just the right cot bedding for your baby, there are some things to consider during the shopping process. Generally speaking, cot bedding tends to be quite soft. For infants, this could pose some danger. For babies who sleep on their tummies, the risk is even greater. Making sure that the bedding of a baby is comfortable, but not too soft, is of critical importance.
